The biggest part of the Baer kit is cutting the "ears" off the front spindles. The "ears" are
the part of the stock spindle that the stock caliper bolts to, and the pads grab on to. This is a no-return modification,
as once that's gone, you can never run the stock brakes again...but why would someone want to? Typically, a sawsall
and a good blade should have you through it in under an hour. I used the wrong blades and it took me way too long
to get that stuff cut. Ask Baer what blades to use. They are just as available, I just didn't know. I also painted
it with a lite coat of black engine enamel to keep the rust down. That is visible in the picture below.
Here's the modified spindle with the Baer caliper bracket attached. It goes behind the hub, and they provide longer
bolts to go through the hub assembly. Make sure to plug those front ABS sensors back in or you will trip the ABS
code. :)
